Kitten Kindergarten - new classes formed upon request
In this two-session course, kittens will become acclimated to traveling in carriers and cars, visiting a veterinary clinic, and being handled by new people. Guardians will be educated about practical in-home concerns, such as litter box use, scratching, grooming, giving medicine, and diet and feeding. Of course, the most fun part of the course will be kitten playtime!
Kitten Kindergarten is designed for kittens 8 to 16 weeks of age. Enrollment limited to six kittens. Classes meet 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Urbana. Fee: $25.

Pet First Aid - offered spring and fall
The CARE Center is proud to partner with the American Red Cross in Champaign to offer a Pet First Aid course. The primary focus of this course is on cats and dogs; however, questions about other species are welcome. Participants learn how to administer medications, recognize an emergency, safely restrain and transport an animal, perform CPR and first aid, treat common problems and emergencies requiring immediate attention, and stock a pet first aid kit.
The course fee is $30 and includes a copy of Pet First Aid from the American Red Cross, a 111-page illustrated reference book.
